Su Shijin
  Director and Playwright

  Su Shijin is the Artistic Director of the

Nanjing Oianxian Song and Dance Ensemble. Since 1980 he has choreographed many award-winning dance, theatre productions and dance dramas, as well as directing gala stage and television events. He has also been named "national first-class playwright."

Since 1980, when he won First Prize in The First China National Dance Competition for his choreography of the pas de deux, Goodbye, My Mother, his full schedule has included the following choreographic and directorial works The Soul of Yellow River (1986); A Long River ((1987); Emperor Jones (1988); Heroes (1992); Kuafu Chasing the Sun (2002); and Soul of Porcelain (2003).

Among the staged gala presentations he has directed are: the Opening of the International Television Art Festival, Shanghai (1992); the Closing Ceremonies of the 1st East Asian Games, Shanghai (1993); the Spring Festival Celebration Evening Gala of CCTV (1994); the opening, Ride of Yellow River, of the 3rd China Arts Festival (1994); and the opening, Century's Brightness, for the 3rd Intercity Games of the People's Republic of China (1995).
